Tired dreams

Madoka-themed art always makes me happy. I can't wait to watch the new movies based on the anime series.

So, for anyone wondering, the Gaiman thing was amazing. He read extracts of his new and upcoming books, and answered questions in a devilishly adorable manner. There was even a bit of Doctor Who talk. Very cute! I am quite smitten.

This weekend has been full of people. I headed out on Saturday with a friend to the center of town. We forgot there was an anime con and a gay event happening at the center of town this weekend. So we bathed in a sea of costumed, happy people having fun twice. In both cases, it was kinda suffocating but awesome. Unfortunately, we didn't have access passes for either events, so we just contemplated the fun in the crowd on the sidelines. My breath got taken away by the vision of the greatest Asuka (evangelion) cosplay i've ever seen.

In less fun news, i've been told at work that my fatigue was influencing the quality of my work at the bookstore, so i'm determined to take more vitamins, to go to sleep earlier and take more walks in the next couple of weeks. See if anything improves. Lately, i'm not sure if the fatigue is 100% work/comic work related. I feel like something else is off. I've also been getting constant headaches, so maybe a little something has been off in my body and needs to be re-aligned. We'll see.
Posted to both Lj and Dreamwidth.

:/ Sorry to hear the body is off. That's never fun. Headaches... have you bee n drinking enough water? I know I get a lot of headaches when I don't hydrate enough. Lack of sleep might also be a factor. I've felt that way at work etc. Hope things work itself out soon.

The Gaiman meet up sounded superb! Too bad you didn't have access to the rest of the events

Indeed. The military lifestyle has taught me so much about the importance of hydration.

I started hauling around a water bottle because I though the lack of hydration might have been the cause. Turns out, no :(

Glad you had an amazing time with Neil Gaiman. Trying not to be green with jealousy over here, lol.

And it's important to take care of yourself. Be sure to get plenty of rest and eat well. I get worried about you. *hugs*

Mwahahahahah. He is quite fantastic though. Really worth seeing in person. I wss also really happy because this is the type of event that would be like... 60 dollars at a comic con and it was 10 dollars at the old theatre. Lovely and cheap.

I,m kinda worried about me too. But it's hard to get back up after a while. At least I'm trying.

Man, I really need to re-watch the Madoka series before I turn to the movies.

D: I'm glad you had a good time, but you really need to take care of yourself! And especially stay hydrated! Dehydration is not only a soldier's worst enemy, it's everyone's!

Oh, no worries there, I love my water and my water bottles. :) I think it might be more a vitamin or iron thing.

I haven't read much by Gaiman, but from what I have read, it is not surprising that he would be awesome. I need to read more of his books, really.

I always hesitate to suggest it, especially with people I don't know well, but--depression and various mood disorders can also wreak havoc on energy levels? Among my friends and family it's often a factor, and when I'm feeling tired alot I look for ways to emotionally recharge as well as physically.
Isabelle Melançonsecondlina on August 19th, 2013 11:45 pm (UTC)
That's a good suggestion. How does one recharge emotionally?
Chriskokiri85 on August 20th, 2013 01:44 am (UTC)
For me it's largely about needing lots of quiet time. Tea and reading, preferably in open sunny places. Noticing pretty clouds and trees and stuff like that helps, too. I also have playlists designed to build good moods. People probably differ, though--what makes you feel comforted/peaceful/good about yourself?

I like talking walks. I used to take a lot before I moved to the city. I liked biking too, but my bike got stolen. Drawing kinda used to be my me time, but it turned into work time. Cooking pastries was another habit, but I had to stop because I needed to reduce my food intake for health reasons. Hummm, I think the problem might be that my usual chargers have turned into something else or stopped existing. I still have novels though. I stopped reading novels (but not comics) for about a year. I got back into it thanks to a couple of good novels and taking an hour per day to read really helps.

Ah, that sucks. I used to like going for walks/runs, but I moved to a city too and it just doesn't feel the same with all the traffic and people. And art, too, has mostly gone from being something I liked to do to being one more thing I feel like I "should" do. I want to reclaim it, but it's been really hard to do.

At least there's reading! And maybe you can find new chargers, too--the tea thing I only picked up a few years ago, but it's become a really big deal in my life, taking an hour every few days to sit quietly with it while it steeps and cools and then drinking it slowly.

Hummm I do love tea. although I usually drink it while I work, perhaps taking "tea time" would be a good idea. Thank you!

Any chance of going in for an all-purpose check up with a doctor? Make sure that everything is working properly and all. Diet is always an easy fix, but the headaches makes me wonder if something else is at work. I hope you can figure out just what is or is not happening soon.

Aaah, so jealous! I would LOVE to see Neil Gaimen in person and listen to him talk! *swoon* I need to pick up his most recent book >.>

Speaking of health woes, it might be a good idea to get a full blood panel done. I was having problems with fatigue and it turned out it was my thyroid misbehaving. If it isn't lack of sleep, diet, hydration, or exercise it might be an imbalance of your bodies many MANY levels of stuff (for a lack of a better term). Also, high or low blood pressure can cause headaches and fatigue.

Oh, thanks for the tip.
